Willow Tree Figure – Sanctuary

 Willow Tree Figure –  Sanctuary is a beautiful and touching depiction of a mother cradling her baby. Designed by artist Susan Lordi, this figure is part of the popular Willow Tree collection of hand-carved sculptures. The figures are simple and elegant with no facial features. The figure features a young woman standing with her baby resting high against her chest, in the crook  of her one arm. The other arm is crossed over her chest, holding the bay under its buttocks. Her arms appear to be holding the baby very protectively.. The mother’s head is tilted down towards the baby’s face and one imagines her to be feeling a deep love for the child. The baby appears to be in a peaceful and contented sleep, suggesting that its feeling safe and secure.  It is wrapped in blankets.

The figure is made of resin and stands about 17cm high. The neutral colour palette and minimalist design allow the figure to blend seamlessly into any decor style, making it a versatile gift. This figure is perfect for a bedside table or it can even occupy prime spot in the family living area.
